Personnel development at the Multi Service Group begins long before a new employee is hired thanks to close contacts at universities and training centers. In this vein, management staff and employees assist selected universities by organizing lectures on campus and offering internships as well as visiting university fairs or awarding prizes for outstanding academic performance. Starting in 2011, the university marketing is directly supporting gifted university students with a recently developed national scholarship program.

Depending on the business segment, we offer various career opportunities from traineeships through to direct entry with on-the-job programs for university graduates with majors in engineering and economics. After joining, our employees do not follow strict, pre-determined career paths: varied tasks and projects allow for flexible, Group-wide and interdisciplinary development, that is, completely personalized career paths.

The process of taking on more responsibility is carried out along the lines of the Group's centralized management development. In addition to annual reviews of all management staff and potential future managers, the program offers Group-wide qualification programs for all levels of management and cooperates with renowned centers such as the Mannheim Business School in the process. These events offer not only training, they also put an emphasis on the exchange of experience with Executive Board members and top management. Moreover, they offer opportunities for networking with colleagues from various Group entities. The multi-faceted development measures for future managers are rounded out by mentoring programs and junior management groups.

Bilfinger Berger relies on young talent and actively supports filling managements positions internally with its own employees. Our track record speaks for itself: two thirds of vacancies in first level management are filled with our own junior staff.
