Bilfinger Berger Budownictwo, Warsaw, Poland
What are you working on right now?
Currently, I’m working on a construction site in central Warsaw. The Zebra Tower, a 16-storey office building, is being developed here.
What is your most important tool of the trade?
The objectives of my work-day are well-prepared protocols on project documentation and organization. For that reason, I could not imagine doing my job without a computer and programs like Excel and AutoCAD. My mobile phone is also irreplaceable for the work that I do – being at different job sites as often as I am.
How do you explain your work to friends?
I try to describe to them the many facets that are involved in the work on a construction site and the role that I play in compiling, coordinating and evaluating information.
What do you find interesting about your work?
It’s great to work with so many different people, all of them making their individual contributions to the project. My job as a kind of interface to the construction site presents me with new challenges every day and that, in particular, is what makes it fun.
What do you like to do when you are not at work?
I’m a big sports fan. I like to snowboard and sail. Both activities allow me to experience the outdoors and give me a feeling of freedom.
