What does a complete application need to include?
If you apply by post or e-mail your application should include a cover letter, a CV and all your main references.
If you use our online application procedure please make sure you complete as many fields as possible and add all your main references and a cover letter as attachments.

How does the selection process work?

Speculative application process:
Once you've entered your data into the applicant database your profile is published in the group-wide applicant pool. The personnel department views this pool regularly. If we find a vacancy that matches your profile, we'll get in touch with you straight away. The specialist and personnel departments use a range of selection tools to select a list of suitable applicants who are then invited to interview.

Once we've received your application by post, e-mail or online, we send you confirmation of receipt. The specialist and personnel departments use a range of selection tools to select a list of suitable applicants who are then invited to interview.

Why do we prefer online applications?
Transparency is one of the most important elements to successfully manage applications - you as the applicant get an up-to-date overview of all the vacancies available and can view your status whenever you want online. At the same time our decentralized personnel and specialist departments can access your profile independently of one another in terms of both time and space. What's more, we can process an online application far quicker and let you know whether your application has been successful or not promptly.

How do I know whether my application has been received?

As soon as we receive your application, you receive confirmation of receipt. If you have applied to us online this is sent by e-mail. If you've applied by post and there was no e-mail address included in your application you receive confirmation by post.

Can I still apply in writing?
Yes, you have the option of submitting a written application to us. We do however prefer online applications. Please note that speculative applications can only be made online.

How long is my data stored in the database?

Your data is stored in our database for six months initially. Shortly before the end of this period you are asked by e-mail whether you are still interested in saving your data in our database. If this is not the case, or if we don't receive a reply from you, your data is deleted for data protection law reasons.

You can of course delete your profile from our data base at any time yourself if you are no longer interested in working for Bilfinger Berger.

Can I interrupt my application and continue it at a later point in time?
Yes, you can save your profile at any stage and continue applying later. Just sign on to our applicant database with your user name and your personal password, your data will not be lost.

What happens if I change my candidate profile when an application is already underway?
These changes are stored in our system and applied to pending applications. This stops these applications being processed further although you're no longer available. At the same time the recruiter will look for new job offers which might interest you with your changed profile.

Can I apply for positions abroad?
Yes, you can apply for positions abroad if these are advertised in our job pool.

Can I block my profile once it’s released?

Yes, you can block your profile at any time and release it again later. Of course it is also possible to delete your registration and with it your profile completely.

Will my profile be released automatically?

If you only register on the system, your data is not released. Only when you are applying speculatively, your profile will be released automatically to our group-wide pool of applicants. You will always receive a confirmation when you complete your application. If you apply for a specific job, your data will be visible only for the company, which advertises the jop opening.
