Bilfinger Berger is advancing its strategic focus as a supplier of services and products that are more environmentally friendly and improve energy efficiency. The company is therefore combining its existing competences for sustainable solutions in an integrated range of services.

Bilfinger Berger to build and operate police facilities in the United Kingdom
A consortium led by Bilfinger Berger has been chosen as preferred bidder for four privately-financed police properties in the United Kingdom. The project company, in which Bilfinger Berger holds a 70 percent stake, will design, finance, build and operate the facilities. These will comprise a police operations base, a firearms training centre, three separate custody and crime investigation centres providing 132 cells as well as two police stations in southwest England. The concession is for a period of 25 years and investment volume is approximately €95 million.

Bilfinger Berger reduces investment in Julius Berger Nigeria
Bilfinger Berger is reducing its minority stake in Julius Berger Nigeria PLC (JBN): The Group has sold ten percent of the shares in the company, which is listed on the Lagos stock exchange, to the Nigerian Nestoil Group. Bilfinger Berger, as announced, thus reduces its investment from 49.9 percent to 39.9 percent. The sale is to take effect in the first quarter of 2012 and will lead to net proceeds for Bilfinger Berger of a good €20 million. The stake in JBN will be gradually reduced further.

Bilfinger Berger concludes industrial service contracts valued at €200 million
Bilfinger Berger has concluded comprehensive framework agreements with multinational companies BP, Conoco Phillips and EDF Energy for industrial services at several locations in the United Kingdom. The contracts cover periods of four to five years and have a total volume of about €200 million.

Bilfinger Berger is expanding its presence in the promising markets of Southeastern Europe with a major order in power plant service: the Group will modernize all three boilers in the lignite-burning power plant “TPP Bitola” which is part of JSC Macedonian Power Plants, the largest electricity generation company in Macedonia.

Bilfinger Berger acquires Finnish industrial services provider
Bilfinger Berger has expanded its portfolio in the industrial services sector in Finland. As part of an asset deal, the Group has acquired personnel, selected holdings and customer contracts from Are Oy Industrial Services. The unit, which specializes in electrical and automation technology, employs 230 people and has an annual output volume of €25 million.
